A workshop about partnering on and off the dance floor, combining tasty, unusual, and legal aphrodisiac delicacies with great dance instruction.

New dancers: At the end of the workshop we’ll cover options for where you can study and practice in Albuquerque.

Experienced dancers: Gain new insights into salsa partnering to enhance your skill and have even more fun!

Many of the essentials for excellent SALSA dancing are also essentials for GREAT ROMANCE!

Enjoy yourself in a supportive, informal, sassy environment.
We’ll dance – chat – snack – and visit.

MELANIE RUBIN is a lifelong learner about love and salsa. A career and business coach, she interviewed 50 men and women nationwide for her book, What Women Really Want from Men: A Step-by-Step Dating Manual. Melanie has a Masters in Education and has facilitated trainings locally, nationally, and internationally, including relationship workshops for men and women in Albuquerque and New York City.

SANTIAGO CANDELARIA taught ballroom dance at Strictly Dancing (now called the Dance Station) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and was also an instructor with High Altitude Swing. He was a founding member of The Santa Fe Social Club, teaching salsa and training instructors. In Albuquerque, Santiago has taught with Salsa Baby and Salsana. He has also choreographed numerous productions, and is an accomplished actor.

Casa Flamenca is a charming flamenco studio in a traditional building set within the heart of Oldtown, Albuquerque, the historic center of the city. It will be decorated for the holidays and we will have yummy treats and seasonal beverages in the cozy, open kitchen which is immediately off the studio.

Please wear comfortable clothes for dancing, and bring a separate pair of shoes with clean soles that won’t scratch the floor or stick to it when you turn.

We will have specialty aphrodisiac snacks and drinks available for your enjoyment. Feel free to bring a snack or BYOB to share.
